Hangar 128 Clubhouse

The 200-unit apartment complex is located on a site north of Seattle near Boeing’s headquarters, and as a result many of the residents are employed by the aviation giant. Inspired by this, we designed the renovation of a 1980s clubhouse around a theme focusing on the history of airplane construction.

In the new residents’ lounge, a dramatic tall space that was a long unused racquetball court, we installed large new windows and doors that open onto a pool area, and custom light fixtures that recall the design and construction of the Wright brothers’ first airplanes.
