Split Level Reset
There are endless examples of this 1970s devleoper-built split-level house in the suburbs around Seattle, and around the country. Our clients had lived in theirs for several years, found the layout logical for their busy family–there was a reason so many of these got built. But they wanted to make the generic building more expressive of their identities. Having lived in Mexico and Spain, they had a love of bold colors and patterns. We used this as our jump off point, adding geometry, color and spaces which opened to the ample yard space in unexpected ways around the home.
