Sand Point Classic Renovation

A young, active family needed more space than their aging home offered.  They also wanted to enhance the house’s classic appearance, and draw on the historic homes of 1920s Seattle.

We proposed a classic palette of materials such as stone, stucco, and wood to keep the house in line with the historic precedents. We also developed refined, and classic designs for the windows doors and millwork to enhance the classic appearance.

We retained the existing fireplace, and made it the focal point of a grand new living room.  The new front door will be directly on axis with the fireplace.

Entry path and covered porch

The fireplace is Ann Sacks Batchelder tile with a Venetian plaster surround and cherry wood mantle

An arched entry door with a dark stained oak trim to the dining room

A custom built in sideboard with a cherry butcher block counter, stained oak bead board backsplash, and water glass doors on the upper cabinets

The new bathroom has an extra large rain shower with a frameless acid etched glass panel and black and white hexagon and subway tile

A wall mounted water spout by California Faucets and Carrara marble counter tie the house to its historic roots
